Westport Connecticut consumer-packaged goods company in search for a Supply Planning Manager that can work autonomously to create an optimum production plan that will deliver exceptional customer service at the lowest cost.

The Supply Planning Manager is responsible to create and monitor production plans for a group of items produced at one or more of our third-party co-manufacturers. The role will interface with external third party manufacturers and internally with demand planning, customer service, logistics, finance, R&D and sales to insure there is an integrated approach to those brands he or she manages. As a result, this individual must be able to create and maintain strong relationships with both external and internal partners. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Planning and is located in our Westport, CT office.

 

Responsibilities:

Develop production plans in the Demand Works software tool, which requires an understanding of all the policy and demand inputs to ensure production plans are properly balancing the customer service and cost equation.

Submit POs to third-party co-manufactures and ensure requirements are met tracking Co-manufacturing Compliance.

Monitor co-manufacturers spend on raw & packaging materials.

Continually review and challenge safety stock inputs by reducing supply chain lead-times and demand volatility.

Collaborate with sales, marketing, R&D and demand planning to understand commercialization and decommercialization and come up with creative solutions to meet customer service needs and minimize obsolescence.

Proactive identification of inventory constraints and communication of these constraints to internal stakeholders, as well as providing creative, expeditious solutions to inventory out of stocks.

Diligence around obsolescence management of both finished good and componentry.

 

Requirements:

BA/BS in Supply Chain Management or Business.

3 – 5 years of supply planning experience at a CPG company.

Demonstrated knowledge of capacity and production planning

Thorough understanding of life-cycle management

Ability to multitask

Experience using a production planning tool – i.e. SAP, JDA/Manugistics, Demand Works

Demonstrated process orientation and problem solving

Exceptional excel skills – Experience using power point

Ability to quickly create strong relationships with third party manufacturers
