They must be able to effectively communicate design fit intent via tech packs created by them or via conference calls / video conference calls to an audience where English is their 2nd language. Fitting of garments (cutting / pinning / draping) and recapping those fittings is a mandatory skill.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct: Assistant/ Associate Technical Designers as applicable
Indirect: None.

DECISION MAKING: Owns fit approval and Independently makes Technical Design decisions (Fit, Measurement Specifications, Grading, and Construction). Finalize decisions with patternmakers and factories, as necessary.
RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: Primary Technical Design resource.
