TECHNICAL DESIGNER / SPORTSWEAR

Responsibilities

Working with Design on development specs for all season, all department (Contemporary Women Wear, Denim driven)
Working with Design / Production on development specs on new product for costing
Working with Production Compliance on specs to top sample approval
Follow up with factories on all stages of fit approval
Fit with design/production for fit samples approval- all season/all project/all categories
Fit pp for bulk approval • Review top sample with production and design.
Work with oversea factories to train the standard and correct paper patterns • Developing BBC block library for the fit and construction Maintain comparison chart for specs on our competitors
Responsible for creating production tech-packs • Knowledge · Illustrator

Overall Objectives The Technical Designer position is responsible and accountable for fitting garments and ensuring the company standard for fit is set for suppliers to be compliant to the design intent of each style. The garments that they fit with Design are new fits only- while anniversary fits are executed through the offshore offices Technical Design Team. They are accountable for ensuring all tools are created, maintained, and distributed to enable a "Closer To Needle Point" strategy. The Technical Designer has the expertise to coach, teach, mentor, persuade, and influence the Technical Design level in the organization to support growth within that group. Technical Designer report into the Design Director.
